Update regarding the national rail strike on Saturday 1 October 2022
On Saturday 1 October there is a national rail strike. This means there will be a very limited service across the rail network, with no services at all in some places. Please keep this in mind if you're planning to collect your Event Pack from the TCS London Marathon Running Show on Saturday 1 October.
A special timetable for the strike day will be published on National Rail Enquiries on Tuesday 27 September, with trains starting later and finishing much earlier than usual, between 07:30 and 18:30.
You should only travel by rail if absolutely necessary on Saturday 1 October. If you are planning to travel into London on Saturday 1 October, please make sure to plan ahead and check before you travel at www.nationalrail.co.uk to see if your service is running. You may want to travel on Friday if you can.
There will be no Southeastern services on Saturday 1 October. The London Underground, buses and Docklands Light Railway (DLR) that serve the ExCeL are unaffected by the industrial action.
Please plan to ensure you can collect your Event Pack before 17:30 on Saturday 1 October.
Trains to the Start on Sunday 2 October
We are very grateful to Southeastern and Network Rail for their help and support in ensuring that the train services from central London to the Start on Sunday morning will run as planned from around 07:00 for participants in the TCS London Marathon.
However, please note that on Sunday other services across the national network will start later than normal because of the knock-on impact of the strike. This means if you are planning to travel in from outside London, please plan ahead and check before you travel at www.nationalrail.co.uk to see when your service is running.
